The
Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Task Force urban search and rescue team spent three days training at the
Cummings Center parking garage recently. "Parking garages are typically good training sites," said Team leader
Mark Foster. The advanced "ropes operation course" was taught to 35 team members who practiced using the ropes to move equipment, patients, rescuers and rescue dogs. "In any rescue team, you may need to lower someone into a hole or off a building," Foster said. To see more photos from the training, visit
